Frederick William Lambton, 4th Earl of Durham was born on 19 June 1855.1 He was the son of George Frederick D'Arcy Lambton, 2nd Earl of Durham and Lady Beatrix Frances Hamilton. He married Beatrix Bulteel, daughter of John Bulteel and Euphemia Emily Parsons, on 26 May 1879.1 He died on 31 January 1929 at age 73.2
Frederick William Lambton, 4th Earl of Durham gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Coldstream Guards.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South County Durham between 1880 and 1885.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Durham South-East between 1900 and 1910.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Earl of Durham [U.K., 1833] on 18 September 1928.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Durham of the City of Durham and of Lambton Castle, co. Durham [U.K., 1828] on 18 September 1928.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Viscount Lambton [U.K., 1833] on 18 September 1928.1
