Sir James Steuart of Coltness 1
     Sir James Steuart of Coltness was born posthumously in 1608.1 He was the son of James Steuart of Allanton, younger and Marion Carmichael.1,2 He married, firstly, Anne Hope, daughter of Henry Hope, in 1630.3 He married, secondly, Marion McCulloch, daughter of David McCulloch, in 1648.1 He died on 31 March 1681.1
     He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh in 1649.1 He held the office of Lord Provost of Edinburgh in 1659.1

     Her married name became Ryder.

     Captain George Cecil Colville was born on 9 September 1903.1 He was the son of Admiral Hon. Sir Stanley Cecil James Colville and Lady Adelaide Jane Meade.1 He married Gabrielle Palmer, daughter of General Sir Arthur Power Palmer, on 19 September 1935.1 He died on 18 August 1983 at age 79.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1942.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HMQueen Elizabeth II in 1953.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1953.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of South Africa.1
