     General William Lennox Lascelles FitzGerald-de Ros, 22nd Lord de Ros of Helmsley was born on 1 September 1797 at Thames Ditton, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Lord Henry FitzGerald and Charlotte Boyle, Baroness de Ros of Helmsley.1 He married Lady Georgiana Lennox, daughter of General Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond and Lady Charlotte Gordon, on 7 June 1824 at London, England.2 He died on 6 January 1874 at age 76 at Old Court, Strangford, County Down, Ireland.1
     General William Lennox Lascelles FitzGerald-de Ros, 22nd Lord de Ros of Helmsley was educated at Westminster College, Westminster, London, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He succeeded to the title of 22nd Lord de Ros of Helmsley [E., 1299] on 29 March 1839.1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of the Tower of London in 1852.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1852.1 He was Colonel of the 4th Hussars in 1865.1 He gained the rank of General in 1868.1
