     David Macdowall-Grant was born on 20 July 1761.2 He was the son of William Macdowall, 18th of Garthland and 2nd of Castlesemple and Elizabeth 'Black Bess' Graham.3,1 He married Eleanor Mary Grant, daughter of Colonel Alexander Grant, 4th of Arndilly and Eleanor Frances Murray, in 1790.2 He died in 1841.2
     He was also known as David Macdowall.2 On 12 April 1782 he lost a hand in Rodney's engagement of The Saints.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.3 He lived at Arndilly, Banffshire, ScotlandG.

     He lived at Dean House, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He lived at North Tuddenham, Norfolk, England.2

     Lady Elizabeth Hay was the daughter of William Hay, 4th Earl of Erroll and Christian Lyon.1 She married William Abernethy, 5th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy, son of Alexander Abernethy, 4th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy and unknown daughter Stewart, on 23 July 1512.2 She died in October 1574.2
     From 23 July 1512, her married name became Abernethy. Her last will was dated 26 March 1576.

     Kenneth Randolph Murray, 11th Earl of Dunmore was born on 6 June 1913.1 He was the son of Arthur Charles Murray and Susan Maud Richards.1 He married Margaret Joy Cousins, daughter of P. D. Cousins, in 1938.1 He died on 28 September 1995 at age 82.1
     He gained the rank of Sergeant in the 12th/50th Battalion, Australian Infantry.1 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Dunmore [S., 1686] in 1981.1 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount of Fincastle [S., 1686] in 1981.1 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Murray of Blair, Moulin and Tillemot [S., 1686] in 1981.1 He was a village postmaster at Gravelly Beach, Tasmania, AustraliaG.

     Reginald Arthur Murray, 10th Earl of Dunmore was born on 17 July 1911.1 He was the son of Arthur Charles Murray and Susan Maud Richards.1 He married Patricia Mary Coles, daughter of Frank Coles, in 1948.1 He died in 1981.1
     He succeeded as the 10th Lord Murray of Blair, Moulin and Tillemot [S., 1686] in 1980.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Dunmore [S., 1686] in 1980.1 He succeeded as the 10th Viscount of Fincastle [S., 1686] in 1980.1

     Arthur Charles Murray was born on 9 September 1882.1 He was the son of Reginald Augustus Frederick Murray and Jane Louisa Otway Ford.1 He married, firstly, Susan Maud Richards, daughter of Edward Richards, in 1909.1 He married, secondly, Ida Clare Mallinson, daughter of John Mallinson, on 31 December 1929.1 He died in 1981.1
     He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902.1

     Lt.-Col. Hon. Alexander Murray was baptised on 12 October 1764 at Airth, Stirlingshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of John Murray, 4th Earl of Dunmore and Lady Charlotte Stewart.1 He married Deborah Hunt, daughter of Robert Hunt, on 18 May 1811.1 He died in July 1842 at age 77.1

     Deborah Hunt was the daughter of Robert Hunt.1 She married Lt.-Col. Hon. Alexander Murray, son of John Murray, 4th Earl of Dunmore and Lady Charlotte Stewart, on 18 May 1811.1 She died on 28 January 1870.
     Her married name became Murray.

     Virginius Murray was born on 20 September 1817 at Marylebone, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Alexander Murray and Deborah Hunt.1 He married Elizabeth Alicia Poitiers, daughter of Colonel Charles Poitiers, on 23 October 1844.1 He died on 25 December 1861 at age 44 at Victoria, Australia.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 94th Foot.1
