     Isabella Fergus Dennistoun was the daughter of James Dennistoun of Golf Hill.2 She married Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland, son of Day Hort Macdowall and Wilhelmina Graham, on 22 January 1839.1 She died on 14 April 1872.1
     From 22 January 1839, her married name became Macdowall.

     Henry Macdowall, 24th of Garthland was born on 13 March 1845.1 He was the son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.2 He married Eleanora Louisa Maxwell, daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, 6th Bt. and Helenora Shaw-Stewart, on 4 February 1885.1 He died on 3 April 1927 at age 82, without issue.1
     He was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Renfrewshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Renfrewshire.1

     Day Hort Macdowall, 25th of Garthland was born on 6 March 1850.1 He was the son of Henry Macdowall, 23rd of Garthland and Isabella Fergus Dennistoun.2 He married Alice Maude Mary Blanchard, daughter of Charles Blanchard, on 12 August 1884.1 He died on 28 October 1927 at age 77.1
     He was educated at Glenalmond College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, ScotlandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain between 1872 and 1879 in the Renfrewshire Rifle Volunteers.1 He emigrated to CanadaG arriving on 1879.1 He was member for the District of Lorne of North-West Council between 1883 and 1885.1 In 1885 he conferred with Louis Riel and voluntarily attached himself to General Middleton's field staff as a civilian in a military capacity in suppression of the rebellion, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Canada] between 1887 and 1896, for Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.1 He was an Indian Commissioner at Victoria, British Columbia, CanadaG.1
