     Eva Margaret James was born circa 1855.2 She was the daughter of John Henry James and Jane Ramsden Ashworth.1 She married Thomas Gair Ashton, 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde, son of Thomas Ashton and Elizabeth Gair, on 2 December 1886 at All Saints Church, Ennismore Gardens, London, England.1 She died on 4 January 1938 at Vine Hall, Robertsbridge, Sussex, England.1 She was buried on 7 January 1938 at Golders Green Cemetery.1
     From 2 December 1886, her married name became Ashton.1 As a result of her marriage, Eva Margaret James was styled as Baroness Ashton of Hyde on 28 June 1911.

He was the son of Edward Cecil Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh and Adelaide Maria Guinness.1 He married Lady Evelyn Hilda Stuart Erskine, daughter of Shipley Gordon Stuart Erskine, 14th Earl of Buchan and Rosalie Louisa Sartoris, on 24 June 1903.2 He died on 6 November 1944 at age 64 at Cairo, Egypt, assassinated.
