John Poulett, 4th Earl Poulett was born on 3 April 1756. He was the son of Vere Poulett, 3rd Earl Poulett and Maru Butt. He married, firstly, Sophia Pocock, daughter of Admiral Sir Charles Pocock, on 22 July 1782. He married, secondly, Margaret Burges, daughter of Ynyr Burges and Margaret Brown, on 23 July 1816 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.2 He died on 14 January 1819 at age 62.2
He gained the title of 4th Earl Poulett. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.).1
