Lt.-Col. Guy de Hoghton was born on 21 November 1886.1 He was the son of Sir James de Hoghton, 11th Bt. and Aimee Jean Grove.2 He married, firstly, Violet Caroline Townley-Parker, daughter of Captain Gerald Townley-Parker, on 11 February 1915.1 He married, secondly, Miriam Barnard Barnard-Hankey, daughter of John Barnard-Hankey and Ellen Gertrude Moon, on 1 November 1922.2 He and Miriam Barnard Barnard-Hankey were divorced in 1938.2 He died on 4 April 1965 at age 78.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice and was wounded.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 His marriage to Violet Caroline Townley-Parker was annulled in 1918.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.1

Cicely de Hoghton was born on 27 December 1884.1 She was the daughter of Sir James de Hoghton, 11th Bt. and Aimee Jean Grove.2 She married Piers Cecil Le Gendre Starkie, son of Le Gendre Nicholas Starkie and Jemima Monica Mildred Tempest, on 29 September 1908.1
