John Boteler, 1st Baron Boteler of Brantfield was born circa 1566.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Boteler and Catherine Waller.2 He married Elizabeth Villiers, daughter of Sir George Villiers and Audrey Saunders, before 1609.2 He died on 27 May 1637 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Covent Garden, London, EnglandG.2 He was buried at Higham Gobion, Bedfordshire, EnglandG.2 An inquest post mortem was held for his on 24 June 1637 at Chipping Barnet, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.2 His will (dated 19 May 1637) was proven (by probate) on 29 November 1637.2
