Robert Rich, 1st Earl of Warwick was born in December 1559.2 He was the son of Robert Rich, 2nd Baron Rich and Elizabeth Baldry.2 He married Lady Penelope Devereux, daughter of Walter Devereux, 1st Earl of Essex and Lettice Knollys, between October 1581 and November 1581.3 He died on 24 March 1618/19 at age 59 at Allington House, Holborn, London, England.2
He gained the title of 1st Earl of Warwick in 1618.
