     Elizabeth Hairstanes is the daughter of William Hairstanes.1 She married, firstly, William Maxwell of Preston before 1753.2 She married, secondly, Charles Erskine of Alva, Lord Tinwald, son of Sir Charles Erskine of Alva, 1st Bt. and Christian Dundas, on 26 August 1753.2 She died on 24 October 1806.2
     She was also known as Elizabeth Harestanes.2 From before 1753, her married name became Maxwell.2 From 26 August 1753, her married name became Erskine.2

     Sir Thomas Gower, 3rd Bt. was baptised on 2 October 1665.1 He was the son of Edward Gower and Dorothy Wentworth.1 He died on 28 October 1689 at age 24 at Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Gower [E., 1620] circa 1 September 1672.2 He gained the rank of Colonel of Foot.1

She was the daughter of Sir William Leveson-Gower, 4th Bt. and Lady Jane Granville.1 She married Henry Hyde, 4th Earl of Clarendon, son of Laurence Hyde, 1st Earl of Rochester and Lady Henrietta Boyle, circa 2 March 1691/92.1 She died on 24 May 1725.1 She was buried on 1 June 1725 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1
     Her married name became Hyde. After her marriage, Jane Leveson-Gower was styled as Countess of Rochester on 2 May 1711.
