Basil Arthur Slade was born on 29 May 1865.1 He was the son of Sir Alfred Frederic Adolphus Slade, 3rd Bt. and Mary Constance Cuthbert.1 He married, firstly, Louisa Mary Clements, daughter of William Clements, on 29 March 1891.1 He and Louisa Mary Clements were divorced in 1925.1 He married, secondly, Grace Joanna Tame, daughter of Edward Harrison Tame, on 6 November 1925.1 He died on 21 July 1930 at age 65.1

Lt.-Cdr. Frederick William Patrick Slade was born on 19 January 1892.1 He was the son of Basil Arthur Slade and Louisa Mary Clements.1 He married Marie Perruche, daughter of Edouard Perruche, on 2 May 1914.1 He died on 14 May 1928 at age 36.1
Lt.-Cdr. Frederick William Patrick Slade fought in the Gallipoli Campaign in 1915, in submarines in the Dardenelles.1 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) (Greek).1 He was decorated with the award of Chevalier, Order of the Redeemer of Greece.1 He was Assistant Agent for the Port of Sudan.1 He gained the rank of Assistant Naval Transport Officer between 1922 and 1923.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the service of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1
