     Harry Hubert de Merve Slade was born on 18 September 1845. He was the son of Sir Frederick William Slade, 2nd Bt. and Barbara Maria Mostyn. He married Evelyn Juliet Marguerite Sayer, daughter of Captain Frederick Sayer and Maria Henrietta Sophia Phipps, on 29 March 1879. He died on 21 October 1932 at age 87.

     Her married name became Slade.
