     Henry Foster McClintock was born on 11 August 1871 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Francis Leopold McClintock and Annette Delap.1 He married Sophia Cecilia Marion Gledstanes, daughter of Moutray Gledstanes and Helen Catherine Verschoyle, on 9 April 1930.1 He died on 24 March 1959 at age 87 at Red House, Ardee, County Louth, IrelandG.1
     He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Post Office Rifles.1 He wrote the book Old Irish and Highalnd Dress, published 1943.1 He wrote the book Handbook on the Traditional Old Irish Dress, published 1958.1
