     Hon. Donough O'Brien was born on 29 August 1870.1 He was the son of Edward Donough O'Brien, 14th Baron of Inchiquin and Hon. Ellen Harriet White.2 He married, firstly, Patricia Alice Fedora Dowdeswell, daughter of John Dowdeswell, on 21 January 1914.1 He married, secondly, Rose (?) on 1 October 1928.1 He died on 23 September 1953 at age 83, without issue.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Irish Guards.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1905 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1905 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He wrote the book History of the O'Briens from Brian Boroimhe.1 He wrote the book Miniatures in the 18th and 19th Centuries.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Architectural Illustrators (F.S.A.I.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Irish Genealogical Research Society.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)1

     From 21 January 1914, her married name became O'Brien.
