     William Ramsay was the son of George Ramsay and Hon. Jean Hamilton.1 He married Hon. Mary Sandilands, daughter of James Sandilands, 10th Lord Torphichen and Margaret Douglas Kippendavie, on 4 August 1828.1 He died on 14 March 1850.2
     He lived Edinburgh.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.).1

     Hon. Mary Sandilands is the daughter of James Sandilands, 10th Lord Torphichen and Margaret Douglas Kippendavie.1,2 She married William Ramsay, son of George Ramsay and Hon. Jean Hamilton, on 4 August 1828.1
      From 4 August 1828, her married name became Ramsay.1 On 21 January 1891 dsps.3

     James Sandilands, 10th Lord Torphichen was born on 21 July 1770.2 He is the son of Robert Sandilands and Grisel Kirkpatrick.3 He married Margaret Douglas Kippendavie, daughter of John Stirling of Kippendavie, on 3 November 1806.2 He died on 22 March 1862 at age 91.2
     He gained the title of 10th Lord Torphichen. He was Captain HEINS.2
