     George Holme-Sumner was born on 10 November 1760.¹ He was the son of William Brightwell Sumner and Catherine Holme.¹ He married Louisa Pemble, daughter of Colonel Charles Pemble, on 17 November 1787.¹ He died on 9 June 1838 at age 77.¹
     He was given the name of George Sumner at birth.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey between 1777 and 1778.¹ In 1794 his name was legally changed to George Holme-Sumner by Sign Manual, after inheriting from his uncle, Thomas Holme.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Surrey.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Surrey Militia.¹ He lived at Hatchlands, East Clandon, Guildford, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Louisa Pemble was the daughter of Colonel Charles Pemble.¹ She married George Holme-Sumner, son of William Brightwell Sumner and Catherine Holme, on 17 November 1787.¹ She died on 14 April 1816.¹
     From 17 November 1787, her married name became Holme-Sumner.¹

     William Brightwell Sumner married Catherine Holme, daughter of John Holme.¹ He died on 20 June 1796.²
