     Sir Robert Maxwell, 4th Bt. was the son of Thomas Maxwell and Elizabeth Glendinning.1 He married Agnes Maxwell, daughter of George Maxwell, 1st of Munches and Barbara Maxwell, circa 1680.1 He married Ann Lindsay in 1697.1 He died in 1729.1
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Maxwell, of Orchardtoun [N.S., 1663] in 1719.1 He lived at Gelston, Kelton, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.1
