     Major Allan John Cameron was born on 25 March 1917.1 He is the son of Sir Donald Walter Cameron of Lochiel, 25th Chief of Clan Cameron and Lady Hermione Emily Graham.2 He married Mary Elizabeth Vaughan-Lee, daughter of Colonel Arthur Vaughan Hanning Vaughan-Lee, on 29 June 1945.1
     Major Allan John Cameron was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Queen's Own Cameron Highalnders.1 He fought in the Second World War, in the Middle East, and was a POW from 1942.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ross-shire in 1959.1 He partipicated in an ordinance; Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ross-shire.1 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Ross and Cromarty Highland Region between 1977 and 1992.1 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1988.1 He lived in 2003 at Allangrange, Munlochy, Ross-shire, Scotland.1
