     Ernest George Birch was born on 1 August 1829 at Yoxford, Suffolk, England.1 He was the son of Reverend Henry William Rouse Birch and Lydia Mildred.1 He was baptised on 30 August 1829.1 He married, firstly, Emily Harriet Hutton, daughter of John D'Arcy Hutton.1 He married, secondly, Sophia Ernle Money, daughter of R. C. Money.1 He died on 19 January 1909 at age 79 at Via Farini, Florence, Italy.1
     Ernest George Birch held the office of Judge of the High Court of Calcutta.1
