Francis Ramsay was born on 20 November 1815.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 2nd Bt. and Jane Russell.1 He married Georgina Hay Home, daughter of William Foreman Home of Wedderburn, on 10 February 1848.1 He died on 25 December 1867 at age 52.1
