Æneas Ranald Macdonell, 19th of Glengarry and 6th of Scotus was born on 19 December 1789.2 He was the son of Æneas Macdonell and Anna Fraser.3 He married Juliana Charlotte Wade, daughter of Archdeacon unknown Wade, in 1819.3 He died on 24 October 1868 at age 78 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.3
He was educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.3 In 1803 Scotus was sold by his trustees to Grant of Glenmoriston, from whom it was purchased by 15th Chief of Glengarry.3 He was 1st member of the Review Board, Madras Civil Service.3 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Macdonell [Scotland, 1716] on 28 June 1868, Jacobite.3
