John Macdonell, 12th of Glengarry was the son of Alastair Macdonell, 11th of Glengarry and Lady Mary Mackenzie.2 He married Margaret Mackenzie, daughter of Colin Mackenzie.3 He married Helen Gordon, daughter of John Gordon of Glenbucket, in 1728.3 He died on 1 September 1754, (buried Holyrood), having by her had:.3
OF GLENGARRY (2nd titular Lord Macdonell).3 In 1746 'Master of Macdonell,' according to FM Wade's Report , Glengarry, whose Gaelic style was Mac'ic Alastair, could put 500 clansmen in the field, committed to the Tower after the 1745 Uprising, in which many of the Macdonells of Glengarry joined Bonn.3

Eneas Ronald Macdonell was born on 26 October 1821.1 He was the son of Donald Macdonell and Anne Isabella Lochshiel.2 He married Catherine Sidgreaves.1 He died on 13 January 1898 at age 76.1
He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 Advocate.1 He was educated Stonyhurst and Edinburgh U.1 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived S Morar.1 In 1855 Inverness-shire (bought from Ranald Macdonald 7th of Geridhoil and 14th of Morar (see MACDONALD OF CLANRANALD)).1
