Sir Geoffrey Ronald Codrington was born on 13 May 1888.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Alfred Edward Codrington and Adela Harriet Portal.2 He married Cecilia Mary Wythes, daughter of Ernest James Wythes and Aline Thorold, on 24 May 1923.1 He died on 18 June 1973 at age 85.1

Sir Alfred Edward Codrington was born on 4 May 1854.1 He was the son of General Sir William John Codrington and Mary Ames.2 He married Adela Harriet Portal, daughter of Melville Portal and Lady Charlotte Mary Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, on 20 May 1885.2 He died on 12 September 1945 at age 91.1
