     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Codrington, of Dodington, co. Gloucester [G.B, 1721] on 17 December 1738.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tewkesbury.¹

     John Archibald Codrington was born on 26 November 1721.¹ He was the son of Sir William Codrington, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Bethell.² He married Sarah Capper, daughter of Henry Capper.¹ He died on 18 March 1759 at age 37, without issue.¹
