     Judith Anne Smithers was born on 9 April 1923 at Montevideo, Uruguay.2 She was the daughter of Major Eric Smithers.1 She married Commander Denys Evelyn Barton, son of Lt.-Col. Richard Lionel Barton and Isobel Violet Leonore Gardiner, on 5 July 1947.1 She died on 8 October 1994 at age 71 at Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1,2
      From 5 July 1947, her married name became Barton.1

     He lived at Stocks Cross House, Bramshaw, Hampshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Field Artillery.1 He was commissioned in 1914, in the service of the Royal Field Artillery.2 He gained the rank of GSO(2) on 11 December 1942 in the service of the Directorate of Military Intelligence.2
