     Brigadier Charles Deane Steel was the son of Dr. Gerard Steel.1 He married Elizabeth Chenevix Trench, daughter of Colonel Lawrence Chenevix Trench and Winifred Ross Tootal, on 9 April 1932.1
     He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He lived at Little Hall, Nettlebed, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Engineers.1

     Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford was born on 11 November 1798.2 He was the son of James George Stopford, 3rd Earl of Courtown and Lady Mary Scott.2 He married, firstly, Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir George Whitmore and Cordelia Ainslie, on 25 August 1827.2 He married, secondly, Lucy Cay, daughter of John Cay and Emily Bullock, on 29 September 1853.2 He was also reported to have been married on 22 August 1827.3 He died on 10 November 1864 at age 65.2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 Vice-Admiral.1

     Lucy Cay was born on 2 December 1829 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of John Cay and Emily Bullock.1,2 She married Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford, son of James George Stopford, 3rd Earl of Courtown and Lady Mary Scott, on 29 September 1853.1 She died on 3 December 1883 at age 54.1
     Her married name became Stopford.

     Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore was born on 27 February 1804.2 She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir George Whitmore and Cordelia Ainslie.1,2 She married Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford, son of James George Stopford, 3rd Earl of Courtown and Lady Mary Scott, on 25 August 1827.1 She was also reported to have been married on 22 August 1827.2 She died on 4 September 1851 at age 47.1
     Her married name became Stopford.

     Maj.-Gen. Sir George Whitmore was born on 12 May 1775.2 He is the son of George Whitmore and Mary Wall.2 He married Cordelia Ainslie, daughter of George Ainslie, on 16 January 1798.2 He died on 2 April 1862 at age 86.2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.)2 He was Colonel Commandant of the Royal Engineers.2 He lived at Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire, England.2

Reverend Frederick Manners Stopford1

     Reverend Frederick Manners Stopford was born on 1 November 1831.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Stopford and Horatia Charlotte Lockwood.1 He married, firstly, Florence Augusta Saunders, daughter of Charles Alexander Saunders, on 8 June 1857.1 He married, secondly, Caroline Louisa Saunders, daughter of Very Rev. Augustus Page Saunders, on 7 November 1878.1 He died on 24 February 1912 at age 80.1
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Rector between 1861 and 1912 at Tichmarsh, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Chaplain-in-Ordinary to HM Queen Victoria.1 He held the office of Honorary Chaplain to HM King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910.1 He held the office of Honorary Chaplain to HM King George V between 1910 and 1912.1
