     Mary Cordelia Stopford was the daughter of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Cordelia Winifreda Whitmore.1,2 She married General Sir John Miller Adye, son of Major James Pattison Adye and Jane Kelson, on 7 October 1856.2 She died on 14 February 1912.2
     Her married name became Adye.

     Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford was born on 10 May 1860.1 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Lucy Cay.1 He married Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie, daughter of George Alexander Mackenzie, 12th of Applecross and Elizabeth Cay, on 21 July 1891.1 He died on 13 September 1942 at age 82.1
     He fought in the Egypt Campaign in 1882.1 He fought in the Sikkim Expedition in 1888.1 He was the Commandant between 1911 and 1914 at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was Brigade Commander between 1914 and 1916.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1916.1 He was the Commandant between 1916 and 1919 at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1919.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.1 He gained the rank of Colonel and Honorary Major-General in the Derby Regiment and Irish Guards.1
