Matthew West was born on 13 March 1777 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He was the son of Matthew West and Mary Ann Roan.1 He married Maria Louisa de Blaisy Joly, daughter of Jean Jasper Joly and Maria Louisa Rumley, on 21 July 1802 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He died on 15 November 1820 at age 43 at Harcourt Street, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 His will was probated on 7 December 1820.1
