     Piers FitzThomas Butler was born illegitimately.1 He was the son of Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormonde.1 He married Hon. Catherine Fleming, daughter of Thomas Fleming, 10th Lord Slane and Hon. Catherine Preston, before 1587.1 He died in 1601.1
      He received considerable estates from his father.1 He lived at Duiske Abbey, Grange, Barrowmount, County Kilkenny, Ireland.1
