     John Crofton was the son of John Crofton and Jane Duke.1 He married Sarah Maypowder, daughter of Richard Maypowder and Margaret Woodhouse.1 He died on 16 September 1639.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Sligo in 1633.1 He lived at Lissadorn Castle, County Roscommon, IrelandG.1 He was ancestor of the Croftons of Lisdorne, Croftons of Lakefield and the Crofton-Atkins.1
