     Lt.-Col. Guy Patrick Gilbert Crofton, 7th Baron Crofton of Mote was born on 17 June 1951.1 He was the son of Edward Blaise Crofton, 5th Baron Crofton of Mote and Ann Tighe.2 He married Gillian Susan Burroughs Bass, daughter of Harry Godfrey Mitchell Bass, in 1985.1 He died on 25 November 2007 at age 56.3
     Lt.-Col. Guy Patrick Gilbert Crofton, 7th Baron Crofton of Mote was educated at Theresianistische Akademie, Vienna, Austria.1 He was educated at Midhurst Grammar School, Midhurst, Sussex, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 9th/12th Royal Lancers (PWO).1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Lowther-Crofton, of The Moate, co. Roscommon [I., 1758] in 1989.4 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Crofton of Mote, co. Roscommon [I., 1798] in 1989.5 He was Defence Attaché to Berne between 1995 and 1997.1
