     Sir Edward Crofton, 1st Bt. was the son of George Crofton and Elizabeth Berkeley.2 He married, firstly, Mary Ware, daughter of Sir James Ware, on 12 October 1647.1 He and Susanna Clifford obtained a marriage license on 11 January 1661.1 He died in 1675.1
     Sir Edward Crofton, 1st Bt. was created 1st Baronet Crofton, of The Mote, co. Roscommon [Ireland] on 1 July 1661.1

     He was ancestor of the Croftons of Kilbryan.1 He lived at Kilbryan, County Roscommon, Ireland.1
