     Walter Knight Shirley, 11th Earl Ferrers was born on 5 June 1864.1 He was the son of Reverend Walter Waddington Shirley and Philippa Frances Emilia Knight.2 He married Mary Jane Moon, daughter of Robert Moon and Mary Jane Pacy, on 9 July 1890.1 He died on 2 February 1937 at age 72.1
     He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was an architect.1 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount Tamworth, of co. Stafford [G.B., 1711] on 26 July 1912.2 He succeeded as the 17th Baronet Shirley, of Staunton Harold [E., 1611] on 26 July 1912.1 He succeeded as the 11th Earl Ferrers [G.B., 1711] on 26 July 1912.2

Reverend Walter Waddington Shirley1

     Reverend Walter Waddington Shirley was born on 24 July 1828.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Walter Augustus Shirley and Maria Waddington.1,2 He married Philippa Frances Emilia Knight, daughter of Samuel Knight, on 4 July 1855.1 He died on 20 November 1866 at age 38.1
     He was Regius Professor of Ecclesiastical History at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Canon of Christ Church.1 He had another son (died young) and two daughters (who both died unmarried).1

     Rt. Rev. Walter Augustus Shirley was born on 30 May 1797.1 He was the son of Reverend Walter Shirley and Alice Newenham.1,2 He married Maria Waddington, daughter of William Waddington, on 4 September 1827.1 He died on 21 April 1847 at age 49.1
     He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Prebendary of Lichfield.1 He held the office of Archdeacon of Derby between 1841 and 1846.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1846 with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Bishop of Sodor and Man on 10 January 1847.1
