Sir Mathew Wilson, 1st Bt. was born on 29 August 1802.2 He was the son of Mathew Wilson and Margaret Clive Wilson.1,3 He married Sophia Louisa Emerson Amcotts on 15 June 1826.2 He died on 18 January 1891 at age 88, by his 1st wife a surviving son:.2
He gained the title of 1st Baronet Wilson, of Eshton. He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) Clitheroe and 1847–53, N Yorkshire 1874–85 and Skipton 1885–86 in 1841.2 On 16 March 1874 so created.2 He was married 2nd Frances (died 5 Aug 1909), widow of Colonel Pedler, of Brunswick Sq, Brighton on 20 August 1878.2
He gained the title of 1st Baronet Wilson, of Eshton. He was Member of Parliament (M.P.)
