     John Ribton Gore Mackessack was born on 12 July 1921.1 He is the son of Captain Robert John Mackessack and Ada Mary Frances Gore.1 He married Nicolette Freston, daughter of Henry Freston, in January 1955.1
     John Ribton Gore Mackessack graduated from Edinburgh University with the degree of Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.).1 He graduated from Edinburgh University with the degree of Bachelor of Surgery (Ch.B.).1

     James Ogilvy, 3rd Earl of Findlater was the son of Patrick Ogilvy, 2nd Earl of Findlater and Elizabeth Ogilvy. He married, firstly, Lady Anne Montgomerie, daughter of Hugh Montgomerie, 7th Earl of Eglinton and Lady Anne Hamilton, circa 1658.1 He married, secondly, Lady Mary Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Hamilton and Lady Elizabeth Maxwell, after 1691.2 He died in 1711.3
     James Ogilvy, 3rd Earl of Findlater gained the title of 3rd Earl of Findlater.2
