     Sir John Foulis of Ravelstone, 1st Bt. was born on 20 February 1638.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Primrose, daughter of Sir Archibald Primrose, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Keith, on 5 September 1661.1 He married, secondly, Agnes Dundas, daughter of Walter Dundas of Dundas and Lady Christian Leslie, on 28 August 1690.3 He died on 5 August 1707 at age 69.2
     Sir John Foulis of Ravelstone, 1st Bt. gained the title of 1st Baronet Foulis.3 He was created 1st Baronet Foulis [Nova Scotia] on 15 October 1661.2

     George Primrose of Ravelston, younger was born on 10 May 1667.1 He was the son of Sir John Foulis of Ravelstone, 1st Bt. and Margaret Primrose.1 He married Janet Cunningham, daughter of Sir John Cunningham of Caprington, 1st Bt., on 3 April 1691.1 He died in 1707.1
     George Primrose of Ravelston, younger was baptised with the name of George Foulis.1
