     Samuel William Giles Alexander was born on 16 June 1982.1 He was the son of Stuart Ian Alexander and Serena Mary Claudia Kirby.1 He married Claire Wills in 2009.1 He died on 28 May 2011 at age 28 at Afghanistan, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of Private in the service of the Royal Marines.2 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) (against the Taliban in Afghanistan) in 2009.2 He fought in the Afghanistan Campaign.1
