Andrew Buchanan was born on 14 March 1817.1 He was the son of Archibald Buchanan and Mary Dennistoun.1 He married Mary Jemima Dundas Adamina Fergusson, daughter of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 20 November 1845.1 He died in 1886, without issue.1
