     Dorothy Knyvett was the daughter of Sir Phillip Knyvett, 1st Bt. and Katherine Ford.1,2 She married James Erskine, 6th Earl of Buchan, son of John Erskine, 19th/2nd Earl of Mar and Lady Mary Stuart.1 She died before 1647.2 She was buried on 4 February 1638/39 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.2 She died intestate and her estate was administered on 23 September 1647.2
      Her married name became Erskine.1

     He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Forbes of Pitsligo [S., 1633] on 26 October 1636.2

     John Erskine of Dun, younger married Margaret Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Lord Ruthven and Isabel Livingstone, on 21 June 1508.1 He died on 9 September 1513, killed in action.1 He was also reported to have died on 7 September 1563 at Dundee, Angus, Scotland.1,2
     He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1
