Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce1

     Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce was born on 9 August 1840.1 He was the son of Alexander Fairlie Bruce and Marion Harriet Cathcart.1 He married, firstly, Mary Rebecca Dawson, daughter of Reverend W. Dawson, on 9 August 1861.1 He married, secondly, Emily Mary Goodall Dainty, daughter of George Goodall Dainty, on 21 March 1911.1 He died on 29 May 1919 at age 78.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Afghanistan Campaign between 1878 and 1880.1 He fought in the Burma War between 1885 and 1888, where he was mentioned in dispatches.1

     Mary Rebecca Dawson was the daughter of Reverend W. Dawson.1 She married Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce, son of Alexander Fairlie Bruce and Marion Harriet Cathcart, on 9 August 1861.1 She died on 12 September 1910.1
     From 9 August 1861, her married name became Bruce.1

Lt.-Col. William Alexander Macdonald Bruce1

     Lt.-Col. William Alexander Macdonald Bruce was born on 10 July 1866.1 He was the son of Colonel Elliott Armstrong Bruce and Mary Rebecca Dawson.1 He married, firstly, Frances Alice Lingard, daughter of John Thomas Lingard and Charity Ann Roberts, on 8 December 1892.1 He married, secondly, Mary Ellen (?) on 19 January 1935.1 He died on 10 March 1939 at age 72.1
     He fought in the Boxer Rebellion between 1900 and 1901.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1
