     Edward St. Vincent Digby, 9th Baron Digby was born on 21 June 1809.2 He was the son of Admiral Sir Henry Digby and Lady Jane Elizabeth Coke.1 He married Lady Theresa Anna Maria Fox-Strangways, daughter of Henry Stephen Fox-Strangways, 3rd Earl of Ilchester and Caroline Leonora Murray, on 20 June 1837.2 He died on 16 October 1889 at age 80 at Minterne House, Dorset, England.3 He was buried at St. Andrew's Church, Minterne, Dorset, England.3
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 9th Lancers.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Digby, of Sherborne, co. Dorset [G.B., 1765] on 12 May 1856.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baron Digby, of Geashill, King's County [I., 1620] on 12 May 1856.2 He was Lieutennat-Colonel of the Queen's Own Dorset Yeomanry between 1866 and 1870.3
