Peter Lockwood Smith-Dorrien was the son of General Sir Horace Lockwood Smith-Dorrien. He married Bridget Elvira Liddell, daughter of Sir Frederick Francis Liddell and Mabel Alice Magniac, on 24 April 1931. He and Bridget Elvira Liddell were divorced in 1937. He died on 22 July 1946 at King David Hotel, Jerusalem, Israel, killed in a bomb explosion.
