     Susan Strang Steel was born on 13 April 1952.2 She is the daughter of Jock Wykeham Strang Steel and Lesley Graham.1,2 She married Major Sir Crispin Hamlyn Agnew of Lochnaw, 11th Bt., son of Sir Fulque Melville Gerald Noel Agnew of Lochnaw, 10th Bt. and Swanzie Erskine, on 27 September 1980.1
     She was a journalist and broadcaster.1 From 27 September 1980, her married name became Agnew.1

     Jock Wykeham Strang Steel was born on 23 April 1914.2 He was the son of Sir Samuel Strang Steel of Philiphaugh, 1st Bt. and Hon. Vere Mabel Cornwallis.2 He married Lesley Graham, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir John Reginald Noble Graham, 3rd Bt., V.C. and Rachel Septima Sprot, on 14 November 1945.2 He died in 1991.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2

     Patrick Agnew of Lochnaw was the son of Quentin Agnew, 3rd of Lochnaw and Mariota Vaux.1 He married Katherine Gordon, daughter of Sir Robert Gordon of Lochinvar, circa 1499.1 He died in 1513.1
     He was much involved in feuds with the McKies, the Kennedys and the MacLellans in court and in battle.1 He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway between 1498 and 1513, 4th.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1

     Quentin Agnew, 3rd of Lochnaw was the son of Andrew Agnew, 2nd of Lochnaw and unknown daughter Macdowall.1 He married Mariota Vaux, daughter of Robert Vaux of Barnbarroch and Euphemia Graham, in 1469.2 He died in 1498.1
     Between 1469 and 1489 he was involved in raiding.1 He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway between 1484 and 1498, 3rd.1 He held the office of Provost of Wigton in 1488.1

Andrew Agnew, 2nd of Lochnaw1

     Andrew Agnew, 2nd of Lochnaw was born in 1427 at Wigtownshire, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Andrew Agnew, 1st of Lochnaw and Mary Kennedy.1,3 He married unknown daughter Macdowall, daughter of Thomas Macdowall, 4th of Garochloyne and unknown daughter Wallace.1 He died in 1483/84 at Wigtownshire, ScotlandG.1,2
     He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway between 1455 and 1483, 2nd.1 On 16 May 1455 he had sasine of Lochanw from George Douglas of Leswalt, by whose forfeiture for treason Lochnaw was held by the Crown.1 He held the office of Provost of Wigton in 1476.1

Andrew Agnew, 1st of Lochnaw1

     Andrew Agnew, 1st of Lochnaw married Mary Kennedy, daughter of Sir James Kennedy of Dunure, younger and Lady Mary Stewart, in 1426 at ScotlandG.2 He died in 1455, 'on the service of the king', probably at the Battle of Arkenholm.1
     He held the office of Constable of Lochnaw Castle in 1426.1 He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway in 1451, 1st.1 In 1455 he supported King James II in the Douglas rebellion.1
