     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1

     Henrietta Charlotte Hallowell-Carew was born in 1823 at Rochester, Kent, England.2 She was the daughter of Admiral Sir Benjamin Hallowell-Carew and Anne Inglefield.1,3 She married Reverend Adolphus Douglas-Hamilton, son of Augustus Barrington Price Anne Powell Hamilton and Maria Catherine Hyde, on 22 May 1847.1 She died on 6 January 1901.1
     From 22 May 1847, her married name became Douglas-Hamilton.

     Admiral Sir Benjamin Hallowell-Carew was born on 1 September 1761 at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.G.2 He was the son of Captain Benjamin Hallowell and Mary Roylston.2 He married Anne Inglefield, daughter of Captain John Nicholson Inglefield and Ann Smith, in April 1800 at Gibraltar.4 He died on 2 September 1834 at age 73 at Beddington Park, Surrey, England.4
     He was given the name of Benjamin Hallowell at birth.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 In 1828 his name was legally changed to Benjamin Hallowell-Carew by deed.2 He lived at Beddington Park, Surrey, EnglandG.1
