     Alexander Livingstone, 2nd Earl of Linlithgow is the son of Alexander Livingstone, 1st Earl of Linlithgow and Lady Helen Hay. He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 1st Marquess of Huntly and Lady Henrietta Stuart, on 4 May 1611. He married by contract, secondly, Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 10th Earl of Angus and Elizabeth Oliphant, on 17 October 1620.1 He died from 11 June 1648 to 10 December 1648.
     Alexander Livingstone, 2nd Earl of Linlithgow gained the title of 2nd Earl of Linlithgow.1
