     Laurence Oliphant, Master of Oliphant was the son of Laurence Oliphant, 4th Lord Oliphant and Lady Margaret Hay.2,1 A contract for the marriage of Laurence Oliphant, Master of Oliphant and Lady Christian Douglas was signed on 17 February 1575/76.3 He died in 1584.4
     He was styled as Master of Oliphant in 1566.2

     Alexander Livingstone, 2nd Earl of Linlithgow was the son of Alexander Livingstone, 1st Earl of Linlithgow and Lady Helen Hay. He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 1st Marquess of Huntly and Lady Henrietta Stuart, on 4 May 1611. He married by contract, secondly, Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 10th Earl of Angus and Elizabeth Oliphant, on 17 October 1620.1 He died from 11 June 1648 to 10 December 1648.
     He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Linlithgow.1
