     Admiral Thomas Maitland, 11th Earl of Lauderdale was born on 3 February 1803 at Scotland.¹ He was the son of General Hon. William Mordaunt Maitland and Mary Orpen.¹ He married Amelia Young, daughter of William Young, on 7 February 1828 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.^1,2 He died on 1 September 1878 at age 75 at Thirlestone Castle, Berwickshire, Scotland.^1,2

     Her married name became Travers.¹ Her married name became Maitland.

     Reverend Richard Orpen was born in 1727.² He was the son of Reverend Thomas Orpen.² He died in 1770 at Bordeaux, France^G.²
     He lived at Killowen, Ireland^G.¹

     Amelia Young was the daughter of William Young.¹ She married Admiral Thomas Maitland, 11th Earl of Lauderdale, son of General Hon. William Mordaunt Maitland and Mary Orpen, on 7 February 1828 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.^1,2 She died on 18 February 1890.¹
     From 7 February 1828, her married name became Maitland. After her marriage, Amelia Young was styled as Countess of Lauderdale on 22 March 1863.

     Valdave Charles Lauder Maitland, Viscount Maitland was born on 14 December 1752.¹ He was the son of James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale and Mary Turner Lombe.¹ He died on 5 September 1754 at age 1.¹
     He was styled as Viscount Maitland.¹

     Jane Walker was the daughter of Reverend Thomas Walker.¹ She married, firstly, Dalhousie Watherstone.¹ She married, secondly, General Hon. William Mordaunt Maitland, son of James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale and Mary Turner Lombe, on 5 June 1810.¹ She died on 5 September 1854.¹
     Her married name became Watherstone.¹ From 5 June 1810, her married name became Maitland.
