Nathan Mayer Rothschild was born on 16 September 1777.1 He was the son of Mayer Amschel Rothschild and Gutle Schnapper.2 He married Hannah Cohen, daughter of Levi Barent Cohen and Lydia Diamantschleifer, on 22 October 1806.3 He died on 28 July 1836 at age 58.1
He lived at Frankfurt-am-Main, Hessen, Germany. He emigrated to London, England, arriving on 1798.3 He was naturalized as a British subject on 12 June 1804.4 He held the office of Austrian Consul to London in 1820, but did not assume the Austrian Barony.3

He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Aylesbury between 1865 and 1885.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet de Rothschild [U.K., 1847] on 4 January 1876.1 He was created 1st Baron Rothschild, of Tring, co.
