Sir Hereward Wake, 13th Bt. and Margaret Winifred Benson.1 He married, firstly, Olwen Mary Wynne-Finch, daughter of Colonel John Charles Wynne-Finch and Alice Mary Sybil Glyn, on 22 July 1944.1 He and Olwen Mary Wynne-Finch were divorced in 1969.1 He married, secondly, Belinda Joan Crossley, daughter of Charles Patrick Crossley, in 1984.3 He died in 1988.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.3 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He was chairman of Carpets Interest.3 He was director of Kleinwort Benson.3
