Edwin Babington1

     Edwin Babington was baptised on 10 October 1585 at Thurcaston, Leicestershire, England.2 He was the son of Rt. Rev. Brutus Babington and Joan (?).1,2 He married Francisca Cockes in August 1607.1
     He was Government Agent for monies granted in aid of distressed citizens of Derry on 10 October 1608.2 In 1641 he was taken prisoner by the rebels during the Rebellion.2

     He graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1576 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1579 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Rector in 1583 at Thurcaston, Leicestershire, England.1 He graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1586 with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)2 He was Rector in 1602 at Tatenhill, Staffordshire, England.1 He held the office of Bishop of Derry from 1610 to 1611.1
